I had wanted to buy an XR-7 ever since I saw my first one in person in summer of '85 but by the time I had saved enough money for a down payment they had changed the body style for 1987. (along with the 2.3L turbo & 5 speed) So for almost a year I looked for a used '85 or '86 5-speed in Medium Canyon Red and finally found one near Detroit. I bought the car in December of 1987 from the original owner and my lust for the it has not diminished one bit since.
