| Description: | The car is a 5 speed with
just about all the factory options (sunroof, equalizer, etc.). It
used to be a daily driver but was "retired" to show car status about
four years ago when I had the car repainted and it took 2nd Place at
Carlisle. That was the start of the show car obsession. The aim was
to keep the car as stock as possible but things sort of got out of
hand in the chrome and polish department (see engine picture). The
car has been entered at the All Ford Nationals in Carlisle for the
last four years and at many local shows. In 2005, the car trophied
in every show it was entered in (10 shows). Hopefully the trend will
continue for 2006. My dislikes are few. I didn't particularly like the four lug wheel pattern because it prohibited me from converting to Cragar SS wheels (my favorites) without modifications. However, that was overcome by having the original wheels chromed. The other dislike is the discontinuation of parts for this car by Ford, especially the vital components. I love the design of the car and its performance capabilities. My main concern at this point is what happens when everything has been chromed or polished and I reach the point where there is nothing left to do and she becomes a "garage queen"? |
