Description:

I first saw the 1988 Turbo Coupe I now own at a Ford dealership in Wallinford and fell in love with the looks immediately. At the time I did not have 24k to buy the car. I waited two years and happened to look in the Bargain News (which handles thousands of cars) and I went as far a Providence Rhode Island and to New Hampshire to fin a Turbo Coupe with all the goodies and I wanted a 5 speed and I wanted a black one like I saw in the showroom 2 years before. I probably tried out 20 of the cars and finally found this one for the right price $6500.00 That was a killer price for the car considering all the ones I tried out till then were around 10k.
I have several likes about the car:
    -  It runs like a strong v-6.
    -  Exceptional looks love it when it is clean.
    -  Everything is well laid out in the "cockpit"
    -  In firm ride it goes into a corner like it is glued to the road.
    -  Comfortable on long trips, the seats can conform to seat you (damn well built seats).
My dislikes are:

    -  The headlights fogged when I got wax on them (luckily I found new lenses).

    -  Ford does not really support this vehicle like they should.
    -  If you lose the anti-lock brakes you are pretty much out of luck (according to Ford)
This happened to mine and I converted to vacuum assisted brakes.
    -  I like the wheels but they have worn  and the finish is not as nice as they were when I bought the car.
If the car sits in the winter which mine always has the tires have a tendency of going flat.
Sounds like I have allot of dislikes but when you really like a car like this one you want to keep it looking good and running good too. I go to the junk yard often and have found several Turbo Birds there, my bet is same of the sensors that you can't get from Ford put them there. Some of these Turbo Coupes are in seriously good shape and it bugs the hell out me that they ended up in the bone yard because they had first generation anti-locks or a sensor that Ford doesn't stock anymore. The good part of them being there is there is more parts for me.
