According to IForged, this is the very first T-Bird ever to be fitted with their wheels. Interior: All instrumentation by Auto Meter Ultra Lite, Recaro SRD seats.
|Description:||I purchased this car in a "written-off" state back in '91. It actually belonged to a friend of mine who had a little too much to drink one night and then ran it into the back of a brand new IROC Camaro ( as bad as the Bird looked, the Camaro was worse!) Seeing as he was at fault, his insurance didn't cover his damages. He couldn't afford to repair it (T-Bird parts were expensive back then) so he sold it to me for $2000 (Canadian funds). The car only had 11000 miles on it then. Luckily I worked for a Custom paint shop at the time and was able to repair the body myself. Unbelievably, there was no structural damage. We put it on a frame rack and it was all within spec! After 3 months of working on weekends, I replaced all the bent sheet metal and gave it a custom paint job in Sikkens Base/Clear. I've actually been around this car since it was brand new. I even went with my friend to pick it up after he ordered it from the local Ford dealer. I've loved these cars since the day! I first seen one and I'll never sell mine. It's no garage queen either. This car has done more than it's fair share of laps at open track events at Mosport and Shannonville Raceway. After driving this car with a pretty much stock 2.3 Turbo for the better part of 12 years, I swapped in a Supercharged 306. I know the purists don't condone what I've done but for those that are on that side of the fence on the matter, take solace in knowing I have every part ever removed from the car safely put away on the off chance the day comes to restore it to original. Besides you should thank me... I made your car worth more if they ever become collectable! This car truly has been a labor of love for me....it's been a 14 year journey to get it to where it is today. There were some trying times during those years when it came to modifying this car but the reactions from other enthusiasts simply confirm for me that it's all been worth it. Thanks to all who've shared their enthusiasm, positive comments and encouragement for my Thunderbird over the years.|
